This was pretty much me today.
This seems like a good
excuseopportunity to talk about Homestuck characters as Star Trek races. This started with me realizing Kanaya was basically a Vulcan; not an emotionless Vulcan, mind, but one who’s aiming to be like Spock was at the end of his life, with emotional reactions managed in the service of logical ends. This then lead to the idea that Rose would be half-Vulcan half-Romulan, which of course meant that Roxy would be a rebel from the sheer uptightness of the Romulan Star Empire who was working with Vulcan bioengineer Dirk on reunification, only for their efforts to be interrupted by a mysterious energy being claiming to be from the universe that existed before this one, who told them that they needed to participate in a mysterious game or else risk galactic destruction…
(Also, for those few who know what I’m talking about: Kid Enthusiastic as the son of Klingon and Vulcan diplomats who met working out the Khitomer Accords.)
It’s never a bad time to talk about goofy AU scenarios. What about the (movieverse) Avengers? It’s a little bit harder to pin down for them. Tony fits the Kirk/Riker maverick commander mold, but functionally he’d have to be the ship’s chief engineer. Steve, obviously, would be a Starfleet captain, trapped in a time warp in the early days of space exploration and revived in the 23rd century. Thor would be either a Klingon or one of those alien races that go around claiming to be space gods… which he actually is. (I think.) I don’t know about the rest… Natasha could be a Bajoran, maybe? (Even though I started out talking TOS.) She seems like the sort of character who would fit well into Deep Space 9, anyway…
Also, now I’m trying to think of the other way—what the original Enterprise crew (either version) would be like as superheroes? Spock as Herald of Galactus, anyone?
